Self Sabotage

As I was going through some older videos on prosperity tv I stumbled across a video that really hit home. Of course Randy has a way of doing that with his messages. How often do we find ourselves thinking negatively of ourselves? If it is true that we get what we think about, then how dangerous a reality is that when it comes to how we think about ourselves, especially when we are thinking negatively?

Take a few minutes and watch this video:

_______________

If Only You Applied Yourself

Have you ever been told that you have such great potential… IF ONLY YOU APPLIED YOURSELF? How is it that so many people can see our potential, yet we lack to recognize it ourselves? I believe Randy is right when he talked about how we hold ourselves accountable for every wrong deed we have done in our lives. Holding on to our flaws and dwelling on our mistakes which ultimately prevents prosperity from fully manifesting in our lives.

Everything in life is a learning experience. Even when we mess up big, and trust me, we will, instead of wishing we could change what happened, embrace it, learn from it, and grow because of it. This is definitely not always easy to do, as a matter of fact depending upon the circumstances, it may very well be one of the hardest things we ever learned to do. Not to mention one of the best!

Letting go of the negative beliefs you have about yourself is like unlocking the door to your abundant life. You know the one I am talking about, it does exist, you desperately want to live it, and you are the only one that holds the key. Forgive yourself for your mistakes and remain focused on becoming the best you. We can do this by eliminating negative relationships from our lives, or changing the programming we are used to getting everyday. Then, by releasing the negative energy and baggage we have been carrying around with us, we allow universal laws to start working for us. Replacing our negative thoughts with positive ones, focusing on what we want versus what we did wrong, we begin to attract newer, positive circumstances into our lives.

Self sabotage is real, many of us are, or were, victims at some point in our life. Choose today to let go of the victim and allow in the Victor! Your dreams are so worth it, and you do deserve to live an abundantly prosperous life.

Today is the Day!

Activity Opens Doors Of Opportunity

A mentor of mine once said, “It is not resources you lack but an idea.”

The New Creative Economy

Hmmm, ideas are what create new opportunities. Perhaps this is one of the main reasons every self help or leadership guru always talks about the importance of reading, listening and associating. As we are consistently exposed to the genius behind the ideas of successful men and women who have come before us, it sparks our own creative genius.

We live in one of the most unstable economic times where making money has become a struggle for the average thinker. While most people continue to look for work, it seems the real secret to living in our economy today lies within each of us. If our world doesn’t lack resources, only ideas, what can you bring to the table?

For years I have read books by very successful business men and ironically each of them talk about the struggles and challenges they faced while on their road to wealth. Many spoke of times when they were homeless, living in their car, and others how they ate oodles of noodles for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Yet somehow each of them didn’t allow their temporary setbacks to prevent them from finding their greatness. As a mater of fact, every one of them wrote about how they had to kick and scratch day after day just to survive while they consistently worked on their idea.

Think Outside The Box

Let me illustrate a point. Let us say that you are struggling financially. Perhaps you are a general laborer and there is no work right now. You have very little savings, if any at all, and no idea what you are going to do.

One option is to sit in self pity and worry about your situation. All this is going to do is drive you nuts, evoke negative thoughts and behavior, ultimately leading you to no solution.

On the other hand, what if during that same time of distress you start thinking outside the box. You look around your house and find what you don’t use of value and sell it on craigslist or ebay. At the same time you begin browsing through social media sites looking to see what other people are doing to make money online. Though your situation is still unstable, you are actively engaged in seeking a solution.

Unexpectedly one of your connections through social media finds out that you are a laborer, they live near you needing someone to help them with a job. They contact you and ask if you are interested. Of course, you are. Or, someone responds to one of the ads you have posted looking for work on craigslist. Or, perhaps you start a website/blog and begin adding content which leads to a part time income stream…

Activity Opens Doors

The scenario can go on and on. My point is inactivity creates worry & stress without offering any solutions. However, activity opens doors of opportunity that you can’t see.

Times of uncertainty are not times to sit and do nothing. There is an open door with the answer to your challenges. The Bible clearly states, “Seek and you shall find.” The magic is in seeking!

F.E.A.R. often paralyzes people and prevents them from taking action. You must do something. Whatever you do, never sit idle and hope for a solution. Be active, engage wherever you can and give God the opportunity to work through your situation.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” – Matthew 7:7 It is like baking  a cake. You wouldn’t want to leave out any of the 3 main ingredients. If you did, it would ruin the cake.

Stay Strong & Keep Moving!

My wife loves to say, “Life is like a camera, what you focus on will develop.” Focus on the solution not the problem. Though you might not know where to start, start somewhere, and do something!

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
- Martin Luther King Jr.

Definiteness Of Purpose

As I sit here this evening pondering exactly how I want to tackle this subject, my mind cannot help but wander through the events which have taken place in our lives over the past 10 years. All too often we hear people talk about how short our life experience really is, and yet for many years we seem to miss the warning.

If you told me 10 years ago what my life would look like today, I would’ve thought you were smoking dope. Seriously, how many of you reading this can honestly look back over the past 10 years of your life and say with complete accuracy that this is exactly where you planned on being? How many of you actually planned where you were going to be in 10 years, 10 years ago? Hind site is always 50/50, right?

Somethings Never Change

A few years ago we returned to Virginia for a short visit. While we were back home it dawned on me how most of the people we knew when we left were still living & doing the same things as they were when we left. Like somehow people get stuck in a routine of daily living and without realizing it they just cruise through life not really tapping into their potential. Let alone living a life of Purpose.

Napoleon Hill mentioned having a definiteness of purpose. Knowing what you are here to do and having the Faith necessary to fulfilling it. As I read his words it made me realize the one, MAJOR, thing we have been missing all along. I am sure many people who will read this can agree. What is it? Fully defining your Purpose in life. What is it that you are going to accomplish, or die trying to accomplish, while you are alive?

Consistent Persistence

I attribute our goals of 2012 to that theme for this year. But until you are able to first define your Purpose, how can you consistently work toward achieving it and persist long enough for its obtainment? Exactly, you cannot.

The reason why so many people in America, myself included, are great at starting projects, yet lack the self discipline to follow through to its completion, lies in the lack of definiteness of purpose. The theory of just throwing mud against a wall. You know, if you throw enough of it at the wall, sooner or later some is sure to stick. How often have we went into a project with high expectations, just to kind of dabble a bit without fully committing to it?

True success can only be attained when you sell out to your Purpose.

“It is impressive to recognize that all of the great leaders, in all walks of life and during all periods of history, have attained their leadership by the application of their abilities behind a definite major purpose.

It is no less impressive to observe that those who are classified as failures have no such purpose, but go around and around, like a ship without a rudder, coming back always empty-handed, to their starting point

It is one of the greatest tragedies of civilization that ninety-eight out of every one hundred persons go all the way through life without coming within sight of anything that approximates definiteness of a major purpose!” – Napoleon Hill

_____

What Is Your Purpose

Before I end this article I wanted to share with you the question I have been asking for years. Perhaps some of you have also found yourself asking the same question. “What is my purpose?”

It has been my observation that everything which has happened in our life to this exact moment has been training us for our life’s purpose.  The struggles, setbacks, challenges & victories are all responsible for the person we have become. Now the biggest challenge is finding how to channel all those experiences into a positive force which drives you to making a difference with your life, through service to others.

It is becoming more and more clear what our Purpose in life is. This blog is part of a work in progress. I am honored that you are reading these words and trust that God will continue to work through us, you and I, as we grow into the person necessary to fulfill the Purpose we were created for!

Blessings,

Ron

The Master Key To Riches – Napoleon Hill

I have been a long time student of Randy Gage

Recently he released a new video from his Prosperity TV channel which you can see below. In the video he references a book by Napoleon Hill, “The Master Key To Riches.” In addition to the video, you should also consider picking up the book. WOWSERS!

Now, here is an excerpt from the book!

Your Two Selves

Before I describe the Twelve Great Riches, let me reveal to you some of the riches you already possess–riches of which you may not be conscious.

First, I would have you recognize that you are a plural personality, although you may regard yourself as a single personality. You and every other person consist of at least two distinct personalities, and many of you possess more.

There is that self which you recognize when you look into a mirror. That is your physical self. But it is only the house in which your other selves live. In that house there are at least two individuals who are eternally in conflict with each other.

One is a negative sort of person who thinks and moves and lives in an atmosphere of doubt and fear and poverty and ill health. This negative self expects failure and is seldom disappointed. It dwells on sorry circumstances of life which you want to reject but seem forced to accept–poverty, greed, superstition, fear, doubt, worry, and physical sickness.

Your “other self” is a positive sort of person who thinks in dynamic, affirmative terms of wealth, sound health, love and friendship, personal achievement, creative vision, service to others, and who guides you unerringly to the attainment of these blessings. It is this self alone which is capable of recognizing and appropriating the Twelve Great Riches. It is the only self which is capable of receiving the Master Key To Riches.

You have many other priceless assets of which you may not be aware, hidden riches you have neither recognized nor used. Among these is what we might call your “vibration center,” a sort of radio broadcasting and receiving set of exquisite sensitivity, attuned to your fellow men and the universe around you. This powerful unit projects your thoughts and feelings and receives unending swarms of messages of great importance to your success in living. It is a tireless two-way communication system of infinite capacity.

Your radio station operates automatically and continuously, when you are asleep just as when you are awake. And it is under control at all times of one or the other of your two major personalities– the negative personality or the positive personality.

When your negative personality is in control, your sensitive receivers register only the negative messages of countless negative personalities. Quite naturally, this leads to “what’s the use?” and “I haven’t got a chance” thinking; perhaps not formulated in just these words, but discouraging, if not deadly, to faith in yourself and the use of your energies to achieve what you desire. Negative messages received when your negative personality is in control of your receiving station, if accepted and used as a guide, invariably lead to circumstances of life that are the very opposite of what you would choose.

But when your positive personality is in control, it directs to your “action center” only those stimulating, high-energy, optimistic, “I can do it” messages which you can translate into physical equivalents of prosperity, sound health, love, hope, faith, peace of mind and happiness– the values of life for which you and all other normal persons are searching.

Snow Blast 2012!

_____

The snow finally arrived in West Michigan on New Years Day 2012. Well, the majority actually fell on the 2nd, but nonetheless! How our family just loves the snow! We figure, if it is going to be cold outside, it might as well snow. :-)

Mood Enhancing Weather

There is just something about those white flakes as they fall from the sky and pile up on the ground that lifts our spirits. For some people, especially many whom live here in Michigan, they dream about sunny skies and white sand beaches. The warm weather is what lifts their spirits. Others enjoy peaceful, rainy days. Yet there are others who absolutely go nuts over thunderstorms and chase tornados! For us, LET IT SNOW!

_____

“ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV)

How about it? What type of weather puts a smile on your face?

Tim Tebow Leadership

A couple of months ago I received Tim Tebow’s book and for the first time was introduced to who the man behind the name really is. To be honest with you, up until receiving that book, I hadn’t really been following his career. Now it is hard to not see all the attention he is drawing.

One of the major turn offs for me when it comes to professional sports is the lack of morals and ethics which are not only displayed, and heard, on the field, but also by spectators. It is impossible to participate in any kind of conversation on social sites without people using profanity and bashing the teams, especially the players.

The humble play of Tim Tebow, his Faith and Leadership, in my opinion, is changing the game! Recently, Tim Marks, posted the video below on his blog and I wanted to share it also. When was the last time you heard an NFL Quarterback singing hymns and praying while playing the game?

Disciplined Living

“God will not look over you for medals–but for scars” (Hubbard). That is another way of saying He wants no “pampered saints.” In today’s turbulent world God needs disciplined men–soldiers tried, true, and battle-ready!

The plight of modern man may be summed up in his striving for the road of self-indulgence. The way of least resistance is his goal. Sacrifice, discipline, restraint–these words present “ideas” that are hard to come by in our generation.

–S. T. Ludwig

_____

“It takes discipline to learn a new art, science, or skill; it takes no discipline to watch a ball game or a wrestling match. The edge possessed by the disciplined over the undisciplined shows up in many little things. The disciplined person picks up his clothes; the undisciplined let them lie. One washes the bathtub after himself; the other leaves the high-water mark for someone else to scrub. One plans his work and works to his plan; the other works haphazardly. One is habitually prompt in his appointments; the other is notoriously tardy. Some people are always on time to church, while others never are. Observers of many years’ experience will support the claim that the difference cannot be explained in the greater distance to travel or larger families to hustle. The difference is habit, and habit is character.” – Richard S. Taylor

_____

Theodore Roosevelt said, “These things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living, and the get rich theory of life.”

Will our aversion to discipline be the Achilles’ heel which will turn Roosevelt’s warning into prophecy?

The one common denominator in all successful people is discipline. Whether shooting baskets, throwing touchdowns, writing books, raising children, singing music, losing weight, developing new habits, reading the Bible daily, or any task which requires time to truly master, discipline is needed in order to achieve it!

So? How about you? How are you doing with Disciplined Living?

Striving to improve daily,

Ron

How To Eliminate Your Income Reset Button

How To Eliminate Your Income Reset Button

This past Tuesday, Melisa and I, ventured to the Cultural Center in Grand Rapids for a business meeting. During the second half,  Bill Lewis asked a profound question. “When you work all week, then you get paid on Friday, how much do you start with on Monday?” Answer: ZERO

The Wrong Side

Most, pretty much 90 plus percent of people, make their living on the left side, or as I prefer to call it, the wrong side of Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow Quadrant. We only get paid for the time we spend at our jobs. Every Monday when we start our work week we start at $0. As we progress through the week, most of us sacrificing a minimum of 8 hours per day, our income starts to accumulate. We continue this pattern up until payday when we, “cash out,” and collect our paycheck.

This generally brings a bit of joy and excitement for the moment. Fridays, again for most, is the day we receive our compensation for time applied at work. Then, when it is time to start our work week again, the pattern repeats. Every week we hit the income reset button and must sacrifice more time to earn income. 5 years, 10 years, 45 years, and for most, until death do us part.

A Secret?

Now I am not an expert, nor do I claim to be a self-made millionaire (YET!) however, Mr. Lewis definitely is, and Robert Kiyosaki can also lay claim to such status as well. Being a continual student, by teaching with others what we learn, in essence we are enhancing our learning. Knowing that so many people are stuck on this life pattern of modern day slavery, we like to make it a habit to share what we learn as much as possible.

With that being said, what is the secret for those people who are not required to hit their income reset button every week? It is called, passive income. Also known as, “Make money while you sleep income!” We love the sound of that because sleeping, and making money, just sounds cool! ;-D

Too Good To Be True

Personally I believe most people are so programmed with the belief that you have to get good grades in school, go to college, then find a safe, secure job working 45 years of your life for retirement. Thus, when you talk about a different way to make money, most  just can’t fathom it. We have associated with a lot of wealthy people to know they think completely different than the middle and lower class.

The truth is, those who have achieved some pretty incredible results in life, like Bill Lewis for example, worked very hard to get where they are today. As a matter of fact, like Bill, most people start on the wrong side of the Cashflow Quadrant as an Employee or Self Employed, because they too were taught go to school, get good grades, and find a job. However, once they learned of a different way, dare I say a BETTER WAY, instead of allowing their limited thinking and current belief systems say it ain’t so, it is too good to be true, they decided to look into this new information.

We were watching Star Wars last night with our kids. There is a part when Luke Skywalker is training to become a Jedi with Yoda. Luke was trying to use the Force and lift his spacecraft out of the water. He was unable, gave up, and stated it was impossible. Yoda so eloquently reminded Luke the reason he fails is because of his lack of belief.

Most people will get trapped in the modern day slavery business model for this same reason.

Do You Want Change

Not everyone is going to want to change. Some people will actually claim they love what they do and continue to work their jobs, hitting their income reset button every Monday, hoping they will one day see retirement. That is fine! If that is you, I wish you all the best. However, if you are like us and seek different results in life, all you have to do is learn different information, change your core foundational beliefs, develop new habits, and presto, your results will change.

I love to say, “If you want something to change than you have to change something.”

Information Is The Difference

My friends I am telling you, from a hardcore Self Employed Business Owner perspective, the wealthy class is totally playing by a different set of rules. First, you must learn what your core foundational beliefs are, as those will keep you where you are, then you must decide what you want your life to look like. Should you find that your current beliefs cannot produce the results you seek in life, all you have to do is plug into a different source of information.

I know it sounds easy, the concept is actually very simple, but the process of re-training your thinking will not be a walk in the park. (I cringe as I affirm this, but honesty is very important to me!)

Don’t Wait, Take Action

Seize the moment, envision yourself shattering your alarm clock and breaking free from modern day slavery. The first book we suggest reading, and I promote it a lot, is the Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki. You can find it in our Bookstore! Read it, determine where you are and where you want to go. Should you determine you are on the wrong side of the quadrant and are ready to make a transition, let us know. We are plugged into a system of education that has enabled us to mentor with Multi-Millionaires and have begun our transitioning process.

There was a time when we also thought there wasn’t another way. Melisa and I were stuck on the wrong side of the quadrant and were never exposed to the right side. We are ever so thankful that we were able to keep an open mind and didn’t allow the opinions of others, who were also on the wrong side, to influence our actions. Instead we agreed it was time to learn from people who have the results in life we wanted. Through reading, and associating with people who in fact are living their lives as we want to live ours, things have definitely changed.

Your results in life are massively influenced by those you spend the most time with. It is important that you surround yourself with people who are headed in the same direction you want to go. Remember less than 10% of people live on the right side! Which side are you going to choose?

Blessed to be a Blessing!

What I Believe lyrics

I’m not the same
Was ready for a change
Everyday..
My life was wasting away
I was in a place
Where my future looked so cold
I needed the light
And I felt so all alone

I’m a Christian
Narrow road I ride
And Jesus
Gave me new life
I’m a Christian
A Bible by my side
Jesus
Gave me new life

I once was lost
Now I have been saved
I’ve seen His grace
I’ll always be amazed
So call on Jesus name
And He’ll change the way you think
Go to the liven well
And take a drink

I’m a Christian
Narrow road I ride
And Jesus
Gave me new life
I’m a Christian
A Bible by my side
And Jesus
Gave me new life

(spoken)
~He walked the streets
The cross upon His back
And He took my shame
Stood up to the attack~

He rose from the dead
Now He’s standing tall
He faced a million demons
And He rocked em all

I’m a Christian
Narrow road I ride
And Jesus
Gave me new life
I’m a Christian
And Heaven I reside
Cause Jesus
Only Jesus
Gave me new life

And this little Light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine let shine let it shine
